Previous projects

At G.P.O, we've proudly worked on a wide range of projects with our friends in The Gambia. Below are a few from recent years.

University Students-
Education Project

February 2020

A group of students from the University of Brighton designed a series of educational and interactive games for a primary school in Serrekunda.

The activities focused on the benefits of active play in learning. Animals were painted on the playground walls with coloured shapes and a "Fruit Shop" was designed which taught pupils how to exchange coins for fruit.

Solar Power for the Sisters

Spring 2017

G.P.O. designed and constructed a solar-powered energy source to produce free electricity for several areas in the Sister's compound at Bakoteh. This has provided them with electricity to power;

  • Water pumps to their well

  • Electrical lighting

  • Plug sockets

This has allowed them access to a constant water supply for all their domestic needs and much needed free electricity for lighting and power.
